The main goal is to show:

Algorithms for Multiple measurement vectors (MMVs) are generally based on row-norms (eg. M-BP, M-OMP), which ignore the distribution of the elements in each row. Instead, exploiting such distribution and replacing the row-norm by the "row-density" in the Sparse Bayesian Learning Framework, one can achieve better recovery performance.

I find that tuning a the scalar regularization parameter to be annoying enough for any interesting image processing application. Now to think of tuning a matrix? Perhaps if there is sufficient structure to make it depend on only a few free parameters, it wouldn't be too terrible. That's just a hunch.

Keep up with the site by the way! Hopefully it'll inspire me to write my 2nd post :)
